I may be biased, but i feel like there were a lot of interesting results coming from new research in mixed selectivity / population coding / manifolds

Did you see the ratstronaut dataset that was recently uploaded to dandi?

Nice new preprint from Giocomo and Ganguli β using Gaussian processes to look at grid cell tuning in 4D (position Γ velocity). Turns out position and velocity coding aren't separable in some cells. Makes you wonder how much we miss by always analysing one variable at a time

The major European postdoctoral fellowship, the MSCA, had around 17k applications this yearβup from 10k last year, thanks to the evisceration of science funding in the US.
Only 1610 people received support.

Every young person sentence online reads like this to me now:
"Bro entered low-stim flow state doing a 10 min grocery rotation and got mogged by a friendly neighborhood cat π Is proximity-maxxing essentials while touch-grass-pilled more optimal than suburb-meta carbrained bulk errands?"
Congrats!
