When the Universe Expands Our basest natures conjure imps, foul-smelling creatures of the night, minor demons lacking empathy that can demolish the world faster than white-maned waves can gallop yet light streams faster than dreams to un-cloud darkened neural webs hacked with lies– is it possible to recall every if as the tiny whisper-wings of hope? Can we turn our faces like sunflowers, scatter seeds, imagine the un-imp, the possible?

Hillman Imp When I was young, a mate bought a car with the engine at the back. To drive it straight, you put a bag of potatoes, or a paving slab, in the boot. Which, of course, was at the front. It leaked water, let in the rain. Always overheated, despite the water cooling.
