I get it — AI has a lot of skeptics, and honestly, fair enough. The hype is real and so is the noise.
In putting together this piece, I kept running into genuinely surprising moments where it made my life better in ways I didn’t expect. In a practical, this-actually-solved-a-problem sense.

Ok but is it any good? I tied the Galaxy Book4 and it was just about the worst laptop i've ever used. Worse than even the Dell Inspirion I use for work. I lasted 24 hours.

my entire app building process from ideation to submission is modular. the issue is the pieces end up in different places or different order every time.

I started with Free tier AI but as things got more complex, I graduated to paying. Just letting you know, that's a legitimate possibility.

I enjoy when I fill a prescription at a local pharmacy and I immediately get a vaguely threatening email from @expressscripts.bsky.social
"We noticed you filled a prescription at a pharmacy. That's fine, you can keep doing that. It just might be $5000 next time. That's all we're saying."
It does share the data. But getting it exported in a format for me to make a CSV or an infographic is damn near impossible.
Nice app. Much easier to understand than the Stelo app and much easier to get to my data than in Apple Health. Also, Sherlocks ChatGPT Health in some respects.

I have a few iOS apps that I'm not doing a lot with currently. So I decided to try to turn one into a web app.
I had to turn off the "agentic" stuff in Chrome. Gemini can't accomplish 85% of it and what it can accomplish takes 4x longer than if I do it myself.

My first macOS app was approved. Already working on the 1st update.
I started messing around with Apple's Foundation Model and implemented it into Task(ed) — add with Natural language, Smart Suggestions (list context aware) and pre-populated suggestions are being rolled out shortly.
