Bold of folks to do that at ECCC. Granted Seattle sadly does have a non-trivial number of terfs 😭 The good news is that they’re far outnumbered by awesome folk 😎

And yes, I am a world building/lore junkie so the things that stand out to me on this front mostly qualify as nitpicks, lol.

Except for the lack of an FBI agent partner, I think that’s a big miss in terms of grounding the world before Grace falls down the proverbial rabbit hole into “Wonderland.”

There’s also some stuff with how Raccoon City is set up that make very little sense given the things still crawling about the city. I don’t want to get too much into what could be considered spoilers but basically a lot of this is easily fixed with a few adjustments and I wish the devs did that.

Finished Resident Evil 9. It’s fantastic, but there’s a lot of internal inconsistencies with RE9’s world building that I wish the devs paid attention to. Like, why was Grace sent alone at the beginning of the game? She should have had a partner, could easily killed the partner off too.

The Clair Obscure panel at ECCC is completely unhinged. If you have the chance to watch the stream or VOD you should.

I know it should be a given, but lots of cosplayers don’t wear the right PPE when sanding, don’t know ASA should never be printed in living spaces unless properly contained/vented (harder than you think,) and as for spraying acetone… You’ll want a proper workshop and consult OSHA guidelines.

What is it with professional cosplayers who run panels and don’t talk about the safety side? Yeah, it’s not the fun part but if you’re teaching newbies things like sanding, printing ASA, or talking about using an HVLP to spray acetone, maybe emphasize safety?

It’s not going to be easy to fix because there’s a lot of tradeoffs happening that started as a bunch of gameplay mechanics being tied into each screen with inventory being the biggest issue.

I like the vibe, it’s a mix of LCARS and old school cyberpunk and doesn’t warrant the amount of negativity.

Yeah, I like the idea behind the UI. Its biggest problem from my time in the server slam is that it’s really hard to tell items apart at a glance. Likely because the icons are fairly small. Issue is, things are small because there’s a *lot* of elements on a single screen that have to be there.

Yeah, the UI isn’t the best but we don’t need to dilute the word slop to describe it. Feels someone went a little too far and wasn’t reined in. That or someone from on high overrode concerns. Which is usually how it goes according to my wife, who is a front end web dev specializing in accessibility.

Yeah, I don’t see this ending well. The way he’s going about things reminds me of the techbros and their god complex. He’s good at one thing, which that makes him think he’s good at everything.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he’s in many of the same Signal group chats cooking the techbros brains too.

Nope, shows really need to be coming out on a yearly cadence. Especially something like One Piece given how much they use to cover. The good news is, the current delay was mostly due to the writer’s strike and season three should be much faster?

Long covid is insane. A person I know got covid right before the initial lockdowns and their life has been hell since due to long covid causing migraines. In a sense they’re lucky because they’re being treated by one of the best research hospitals in the US. Most do not have that.
