Glad to see this finally out in @secdialogue.bsky.social!

How do plural understandings of #security become balanced in performances of security? Here, I show how security performances transform over space/time, according to plural, shifting, actors and interests.

Whilst one wheel cannot capture the complexities of academic privilege, this is a useful tool for thinking about where it lies. We suggest a new spoke on contract status be added to signal that this as a key issue that intersects with every other indicator of privilege.

Our report paints a stark picture. In addition to the experiences of early career and fixed term colleagues, nearly half of all permanently employed UK geographers currently feel precarious.

Really glad that this is finally out - thanks so much to all of the contributors and participants involved. The report's findings are so important, and reading through the responses has been deeply emotional. Our discipline is being eroded by precarious employment practices, but it can be otherwise.
