Meet Us Halfway is so impressed by this IB student led #anti-racism art initiative that is on view in Charlottetown at Blank Canvas Art Supplies. Fantastic leadership! #PEI #Charlottetown www.cbc.ca/player/play/...
I guess I should properly introduce myself! My name is Dave and Iβm a nature and portrait photographer from Prince Edward Island with an insatiable curiosity for the beauty of the world and its inhabitants.
Iβm loving it here on BlueSky and really appreciate all the connections and interactions!
Typically, for Halifaxβs beloved conceptual performance and installation artist and #NSCAD teacher, the works use directness and sly humour to undercut formality, complacency, pomposity and other barriers to the pleasures and provocations of art.
Various works assembled from humble, sometimes found objects are arranged around the periphery of the space.
The exhibitionβs centrepiece is the artistβs βdialogue with painting,β an array of tables displaying discarded canvases from the drop-in studio, Wonderneath, next door; some of them have been altered by artist, some βfinished,β maybe βimproved,β and some left the way they were.
Meet Us Halfway visited the Blue Building Gallery in #Halifax this December, and viewed the current Michael Fernandes show, I Turn Babies, up until February 15th.
