Heavily developed and produced by Eric Kripke with veteran executive producer Laura Ziskin, “Tarzan ‘03” was made in the vein of WB’s “Smallville”; a young adult reimagining of sorts, where the famed heroic lead is faced with contemporary (early 2000s) dramatic tones. In the series, the action is set in New York City and concerns John Clayton (aka Tarzan), the heir to the billion-dollar Greystoke Industries; long thought dead with his parents in an airline crash in central Africa, his uncle, who took over said company, was able to locate and capture the grown wild man and keeps him locked up in secret. After Clayton’s escape, he encounters his Jane, an NYPD detective in this adaptation, who becomes entwined in the intrigue and falls in love with Clayton. Fimmel, who had little prior acting experience, was nonetheless very exposed as a Calvin Klein, where Ziskin spied and selected him to play the title role. Though it received a huge marketing push, the series seems to have failed in drawing an audience and lasted only one season. Kripke went on to have great success in developing television shows, creating both “Supernatural” and “The Boys.” Fimmel later found a true breakthrough role in History Channel’s “Vikings,” and continues to act in film and television.

Aww ☺️
They look so nice!
Often deemed one of the most beautiful women of film stardom, she wore many hats in her long career: child actress, bona fide film star, serial spouse, tabloid fodderess, Oscar winner, veteran witness of the last days of Hollywood’s Golden Age studio system, perfume spokeswoman, advocate for those living with HIV. It’s probably not an exaggeration to say that she was the avatar for Hollywood fame for over four decades, the comparison point for many a would-be screen starlet afterward. Here, I’ve sketched Miss Taylor during her “weird 70s” era, in the mesmerizing thriller “The Driver’s Seat” (“Identikit,” in some releases and regions).
