Thanks so much! I hope you feel the wait was worth it. And am I judging correctly from the photo that you purchased the jacketed hardcover signed limited edition? I'm pleased of course regardless of whichever edition you purchased, but if so, aw, shucks.

So that recent sale to Sunday Morning Transport doesn't have you thinking my writing life is all puppy dogs, rainbows, and unicorns, I thought I'd let you know I also this week just now received my 13th short story rejection of 2026. I'm just another bozo on this bus. Never give up! Never surrender!

Today's massaging of the story in progress added 309 words to the manuscript and went through several more working titles. Not sure how close I am to finishing the story, but the title's getting quite close to what I need it to promise about all that comes after.

A side-view caricature of me with a LOT of hair, and holding what appears to be a comic strip. It's signed, "To Scott the Comics Collector, Best, Bob Dunn."
Remembering the late Bob Dunn, born on this date in 1908. He was a winner of National Cartoonists Society's Reuben Award and is best-known for his work on They'll Do It Every Time and Little Iodine ... though he *SHOULD* be best known his caricature of teen me. And yes, I did have that much hair!

A graphic for the game Clues by Sam which says:
Solved
Mar 4th 2026
Solved in 02:45
There are four graphics in a two by two grid.
Image #1 shows a sleuth with a magnifying glass and the words Clues by Sam.
Image #2 shows one of the suspects with a the outline of a person and a pretend text block beneath.
Image #3 shows another suspect's outline, and the words, "One criminal is running a free-of-charge storage"
Image #4 shows a four by five grid of the puzzle itself, with check marks in many of the squares.
This morning's Clues by Sam was rated Medium but felt Easy, a rare reversal of my usual reaction. cluesbysam.com

Woke in the night to several more alternate titles for the story in progress. I believe the largest number I've ever gone through on a single story before arriving at a final title which fit was somewhere in the mid-thirties. I don't think this one will need to go that far.

Tonight's revision session added 351 words to the new story. And FYI β I wasn't even able to begin this one until I decided to pretend no one other than me would ever read it, that it was worth writing even if just for myself. And it has been! If nothing else, it's been a good place to put my anger.

YouTube video by Netflix
This afternoon's treadmill movie was Richard Linklater's Nouvelle Vague, which was an absolute delight. I wore a smile the entire time I stepped. This joyous film about the act of creation is recommended to everyone engaged in making art. And I had no idea it would be so funny! youtu.be/UufRzKVFseg

Itβs Time for the Media to Press Trump on Allegations of Abusing a Minor
Trump faces allegations in the Epstein files, including claims involving a minor. The media should investigate him as it has others.
