Very much so. Experts at flipping the situation so that you'll always, always be in the wrong. But you're not, and I'm glad you can see that.
Coercive control is horrendous. It's very hard to pick your way through to reality when you're constantly being gaslit, so you've taken a big step forward acknowledging it and now you see the patterns, you can resist the damage. It's very tough - wishing you strength.
I see your posts and commiserate. There is support out there. The Domestic Abuse Helpline operates 24/7, and will listen with compassion and kindness. You can call as often as you need. Might help to have an understanding ear for now, and they can signpost to direct support in future if needed.
π£ New GCPH Publication for Glasgow 850!
From Provand's Lordship to the Red Road Flats, the provision of clean water to the 1915 rent strikes & this year's Housing (Scotland) Bill, this timeline shines a light on events that shaped Glasgow's health www.gcph.co.uk/latest/publi...
Heady concoction of bigotry and misogyny, the tale as old as time π Interesting that the subtlety has been completely ditched over time. Hate speech towards poor women is just fine now.
Called my masters dissertation Poor Cows or Dangerous Beasts, about how broadsheets write about WC (single) mothers. Titled a lecture from it quoting a Telegraph journo of the time who called them (me!) "morally bankrupt parasites". Nearly two decades ago and the hatred and vitriol still flow ...
Grand!
My daughter's in Glasgow but would be delighted to do this - any more details?
Did we ever have any wanted visitors? This is awful sad, far too young. Loved this track, but first I sought out on hearing the news was What - a banger, with a great video.
One of the best and quietly profound gigs I've ever been at.
Maryhill in Glasgow is drenched with them. Every street around high rise blocks where a ton of migrants are housed (including my street). It's despicable
Great episode. Re the welfare cuts/acute health crisis we're experiencing, nobody mentions austerity. Data shows by 2019, we were already dying/getting very sick as a direct result. Highly recommend Social Murder, a book by academic colleagues David Walsh& Gerry McCartney from Uni of Glasgow.
Hmmmmmmmm π
Done, entirely because "bunnies do not judge the hand that boops them". Keep up the terrific work.
Oh that's fantastic, love a nice map - ta!
Lovely! I've snaffled an online ticket - will share to interested pals.
Data centres require huge amounts of water to stay cool. I can't remember which paper I read recently, but it estimated every single AI email takes a 500ml bottle of water to cool the system. Amazon have/are trying to buy entire annual output from a Scottish reservoir for it's UK data centres
I have two cats who have been absolute rocks through hell and high water - I know how important the furry friends are. Fingers crossed for you ...
That's absolutely rotten, I'm so sorry. Fingers crossed for a swift recovery and normal service resumed
What a lovely piece. Lest we forget!
This always does my head in especially as someone with permanent cog-fog - I have to refer to printed instructions every single increase because I can't retain the info. So this is revolutionary for me! Thank you!
I bloomin will π
I hadn't noticed that!
I love that photo of you both!
Crypto mentuoned in a podcast this morning in that BRICs are (is?) discussing using electronic tokens as currency within their trading agreements and thought, aha, THAT'S what Trump is angling for, boosting crypto (which he's already lucratively milked). I've never watched Mr Robot though π¬
A plump black and white cat sitting in an oblong box of sunshine, he is glancing down to his right, his whiskers shining
Just a boy in a beam with twinkly whiskers.
Can any paleographers help me out with the name of this street? Located in Govan, Glasgow 1871 - ta!
Baby steps! You'll be grand!
Yep, at my pool the morning hours are very quiet. Women only is perfect. It takes real courage - it shouldn't but it does - so you should be so proud of going for it!
