Pausing PowerBI discussion briefly just to acknowledge how good MAGNOLIA is...

Pausing PowerBI discussion briefly just to acknowledge how good MAGNOLIA is...
I always forget the implicit ones are classed as measures.
Do tell.
I'm getting strong got-their-technical-questions-off-the-internet vibes.
I set mine to start every reply with M'lud, initially just as a test, but it still mildly amuses me.
But yours is on a whole other level. Following just on the basis of that.
It's a really nice idea, but I feel Plato's contribution is somewhat undercooked...
I like to think I'd challenge the premise of the question.
(Because at its most basic level I'd say the divide is between Power Query/ M code and DAX [both of which have functions], but if that's what they were driving at, it's a really weird way to ask about it.)
Thank you :)
I'm stuck in PowerBI where the options are still quite limited. May I ask what you're using which is good, because I might need to get into that a bit?
If we beat Wolves and Burnley at Elland Road we're on to 37 points. That leaves 7 games to harvest an extra point or three. (Including West Ham on the final day.)
Things have got a bit tighter after the last 2 disappointing results, but we're still 8pts ahead of where I thought (at the start of the season) we needed to be at this point to survive. Can't afford many more slips up like last night though. #LUFC #MOT #DataViz

Thanks,
I think my unease with it is on 2 levels.
On one level I accept the majority view is that it's OK for line charts
(even tho' I would argue the relative changes are still expressed relative to the position of that 0 line)
but also, in this specific case, I do think the scale is misleading.
I'm less happy about the y axis on the top one, however.
I'd say they can have that suggestion for free, but they just steal everything anyway...
I can't help wondering if AI providers would do better if they shaded my prompts with a different colour so when I'm scrolling through our chats I can quickly identify where I am. They tend to be very verbose and trying to get back to something useful is an annoying part of the process.
#PowerBI just did that thing again where is turns off a scheduled refresh because no-one has viewed the report.
No warning.
Really annoying.
It's not there for the reports to be viewed, but for the data to be processed via #Flow.
Thanks for highlighting that. It's a good list.
Came across this old #PowerQuery tip. It's a good one.
Took my first few baby steps into R yesterday to clean some data using #Regex. Need to focus more on other skills, but this was the best tool for the job given I wanted to stay within #PowerBI
We stayed in the house he was born in in Pisa. It's broken into different apartments now and one of them is on AirBNB at a normal cost.
Once, during a rugby match, they super-glued up a gash in my forehead, and I went back on and scored a try.
No really relevant to my usual MO here, but I love this story, and not just because I am a 6'5" man who lives in what would've been Mercia.
...Tho' remember if you're bringing it in to #PowerBI to change QuoteStyle=QuoteStyle.None
to
QuoteStyle=QuoteStyle.Csv
Thanks. I panicked for a moment, but as someone that always builds from Desktop I think I should be OK.
Think I'm going to have to start adding a date to my code comments so I can find the AI conversation that led to them. Probably documenting them better in the first place would be better, but it's a start.
Thanks. That makes a lot of sense. Up to now I usually curse and spend ages incrementally increasing & decreasing the widths/lengths until I get the larger font size in the smallest possible box. Your way definitely sounds better.
Ace. "Barsky" is a nice touch
Well that makes me feel a lot better!
Agree with you on the first, though still thinking through everything around the second. Out of interest, what makes you say that?
I'm embarrassed to admit I've been using #PowerBI for nearly 5 years and I've only just discovered that you can stop it shrinking your label text etc. by going to
Format>Properties>Advanced Options and setting "Responsive" to Off.
I know there are other implications of turning that off, but still!
