Adorable! If I could help younger me, I would have told myself to start & keep healthier habits like walking & basically tell anyone critical of my appearance to fuck off.

Walll space for art & bookshelves?
Good luck!
This is saddest death scene.
I love when when I order something for fun & then forget about it until it arrives.
It's weird. Since this diagnosis, I have less patience for stupidity. It's like I have a finite bandwidth to deal with everything & right now, most of it is dealing with insurance. I don't have the patience to teach people about basic chemistry.
I know they meant additives that may be carcinogenic, but they said things like, "I can't pronounce it, so it must be bad." Really? You can't read even a little bit to educate yourself?
I lasted about a week in a chronic kidney disease group on FB. I wanted recipes, not judgments. But worse, the lack of critical thinking. People looking for magic cures & diet fads & folks saying don't eat X because it has chemicals. Everything consumed is made up of chemicals.๐
I love Kanopy!
That's pretty!
With unusually warm weather, i eagerly fired up the grill. I grilled marinated jicama root, which is a surprisingly tasty kidney friendly food. I topped it with seasoned black beans & paired with a side salad. Did my mood a world of good. Or maybe that was the giget beer...
Now this is something I would enjoy!
@ladyjenpool.bsky.social thanks for the repost
I finished my first romance novel - An Offer Fae Can't Refuse by Lou Wilham. For a fantasy novel, it's pretty good - fae families portrayed as mob families. There isn't much action, mostly unrequited love, but it is a good story.
This! Tomato juice taints everything it touches!
You find the neatest stuff!
We have the Rule of Money: the more money you have, the less the rules apply to you
Would love to hear more about the monks.
There is a new local romance bookstore that had a pet adoption event today. It's not my genre, but I got to pet dogs & the proceeds went to the pet rescue. I bought 2 romance fantasy books. I like to think I'm open-minded enough to try something out out of my comfort zone.
Recovering well from biopsy. There has not been much pain, but I can't sleep my side yet & and can't lift more than 5 lbs., which oddly I seem to do frequently in my daily life.
Older woman with coffee after biopsy procedure.
Had a kidney biopsy today. They brought me coffee afterwards.
I work with electronic health records, & the desire to have the software do everything for the healthcare providers is alarming. Like no critical thinking skills.
I can relate. Some office trivia game stated that this person's most common phrase is not safe for work. They meant me, & my response was, "You need to be more specific. Most of what I say is not safe for work, my thoughts are even less so."

I had a similar discussion with my elderly mother. For some reasonn she picked up a Tom Robbins book. Absolutely not her taste. I was annoyed that she kept saying it was badly written & shouldn't have been published. I told her that her opinion was not fact.
I had to give up one dog because my health didn't let me meet his exercise needs. My other 2 are helping me improve my stamina by walking them more often.
