Movie actors are eaten ALIVE by fans without a barrier between them; animation fans aren’t “different” from movie fans, there are just so many less guard rails for some types of artists I think. We’re left out in the open in a world where it’s increasingly easier to do bad things to people online.

Like actually think about it. Actors (both physical and lesser-but-still voice) are MUCH more likely to be able to afford and often are expected to have agents. Visual artists and writers are made to hit the pavement, self-promote, and network so much harder than other creative fields

The internet being capable of immense cruelty is an immutable fact, but have we ever stopped to consider how the creative field is structured so that writers and artists have to do so much more promotion work themselves, thus exposing them to the Evil Vortex more out of necessity?
