An example From 2016 and a wealth of prior work about including introns into AAV to optimize transgene expression… also, the mostly non-integrating AAV poorly suits transduction of highly proliferating blood cells in which vector will be quickly diluted out 🤔

I agree. However, often the ECRs need a paper out to apply for grants/fellowships or to graduate and for many agencies preprints do not count. It’s sometimes better to lower the bar (without diving into the Frontiers/MDPI abyss) if the science is still solid and get the story out.
