Everyone benefits from accessibility
I planned to share my report on the body cam footage early next week when I learned that a DC news station had obtained some of the footage as a result of my lawsuit and they were going to scoop me. After working on this for a year, I couldn't let that happen. Published 2 mins before they aired :)
I have so many amazing heritage varieties to share this year!
We're turning them into a lemony chicken, potato, and nettle soup. Not done yet, but it smells heavenly! I have lots leftover so tomorrow maybe I'll make my favorite nettle cake www.kwiaht.org/documents/Le...
Iβve been asked if I would support Sen. Mullin as Noemβs replacement.
The answer is a resounding NO. The rot in DHS is deep, much deeper than any individual.
Itβs a question of policy not personnel. The Senate should not consider any DHS Secretary nominee until DHS and ICE are reined in.

The fearsome reputation of the brown recluse spider and its relatives far outpaces their actual impact, researchers in Florida say. Their new study concludes that recluses are in fact scarce, reluctant to bite, and in most cases unlikely to cause the severe harm so often attributed to them.

I was born in a county park.
Everything is awful now, so please share below something youβre excited about this week. It can be an accomplishment, something youβre looking forward to, or cute animal pics.
I am going to pick my first nettles of the year and cook them into something delicious.

once again I reiterate that I have never found a more effective barometer for "is this space safe for my fat cis body" than "show me your specific policies for creating a safe space for trans bodies"

Itβs #WorldWildlifeDay and we're celebrating the many benefits of veteran fruit trees for wildlife. Our students (pictured) recently learnt some valuable skills in veteran tree care at Bethlem Royal Hospital's amazing old orchard in London. #CommunityOrchards

While I would prefer permanent standard time, most of all I support not changing it twice a year! Hopefully more of the coast will adopt this.

The same way you don't want people bombing you and your loved ones is the same exact thing that other people feel where they live.

A baby roughskin newt sits in my hand, before being moved off the road into the forest. The newt is about 8cm long, burgundy on top and bright orange beneath, but so small its toes are translucent. The top half of its eye gleams gold like a dragon. This is a photo from several autumns ago.
A newt for those that need one.

Are you feeling confused today about whether or not it is OK to bomb a school or hospital that actually has kids and patients in them? Regardless of what race or religion of people those kids and vulnerable people belong to?

At least we have nettles to eat. I will rejoice in the small things and the seasons.
And WSU has a new professor of indigenous horticulture and we were able to invite him up for a session on Coast Salish agriculture and restoration (and feed him camas).
