Thanks for the opportunity to talk about the great plans that farmers in @acresbreifne.bsky.social have for the landscape in their area. I really enjoyed the other talks in the session .

Warning over risk to endangered birds' nests from dogs Conservationists are warning of an increase in recent weeks of the nesting sites of endangered breeding waders, such as the curlew, being destroyed by dogs.

This is an important message that applies not just to breeding waders, but other ground nesting birds across the country. Please avoid disturbing habitats tht are important for sensitive bird species, especially with dogs. This avoids disturbing livestock too.

Leitrim farmer offers up farm to be used as ACRES demonstration farm Over the weekend, Leitrim farmer Seamus Cornyn created small shallow ponds known as “wader scrapes” for biodiversity.

The Breifne team worked with farmer Seamus Cornyn, in collaboration with Breeding Waders EIP Project to put in some wader scrapes that other farmers will be able to visit if they're interested in this action in the future. www.farmersjournal.ie/news/news/le...
