This is Frey, the protagonist of an upcoming webcomic I'm developing. In it, she hunts cryptids and faces her past in the far aftermath of a human-machine war.
Realizing I named this killer robot like something the AIMS Team would fist fight on Mountain Monsters.
Which I guess is appropriate, since my protagonist literally goes out into the woods to fist fight it.
Since itβs Black History Month, I put together a booklist of graphic novels written/drawn by Black creators, and/or centering Black stories & experiences! π Go give these a read and support the authors/artists!
Iβll also spotlight some of my favs throughout the month.

I get tired of saying it, but Iβll say it again: the nature of oppression in America is that they workshop it first on Black, Latino, Asian & Native people.
But it is always, in the end, coming for everyone.
I'd be interested. Coming from games and trying to get into comics

Anyone know what I can do with song lyrics when I myself do not play an instrument (and am not confident in my singing voice or DAW skills)?
Just woke up from another dream where half of what I wrote down were lyrics to a song someone played in it.

Attention #artists! Stop guessing your hourly rate. If you need $2,760/mo to survive, but you only do "deep work" for 20 hours a week... Charging $25/hr means you are slowly going bankrupt. Here is the math. π§΅
When ever one of those AI bros tires to tell you that artist are gatekeeping art remember that pros, armatures, hobbyist all stopped what they where doing to provide guidance to a newbie artist over the shared experience that "this one angle is hard to draw"

Dear Publisher - We recently shared the news that Baker & Taylor was shutting down operations. When we learned they were financially unstable, Ingram took many steps to reduce credit exposure and stock levels, while continuing availability of books to library customers. Those steps were highly successful and the credit balance to the account was brought down significantly over time. At the time they shut down operations, their remaining stock on hand was minimal. Unfortunately, we have received notice that they will not pay the outstanding amounts they do owe and no further stock will be returned. Ingram is taking on the first $100,000, but the debt owed exceeds that amount. As a result, a chargeback for your pro rata share will be on your December statement (available the first week of January), per the terms of your contract.
New from my distributor I foolishly read on this, my supposed week off.
@ironcircuscomics.bsky.social does a lot of library business. I'm dreading that January statement.
Gang, if you have ever wanted an Iron Circus title, now would be a wonderful time for you to grab one. π

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, I would have you remember that there are trans people alive who need your action now, not your reflective words later.
Remembering us is not enough.
Text reads: Fed up with your world? Visit ours. Clarkesworldmagazine.com The Clarkesworld robot (center) looks to the right at the cover of Clarkesworld #230, which is in yellow, orange, and brown and features a futuristic cityscape with a small craft approaching. Cover art is "Neo Mars" by Guy Warley.
In light of the astronomical increases for my health insurance next year, I thought it would be a good time to encourage people to subscribe. (A few hundred should cover it. Sigh.)

Next week we were scheduled to have @spellbookgaming.bsky.social on our show to promote this project, but unfortunately had to cancel. Be sure to check this out and consider backing because the world can always use more cyberpunk.

Happy October! β¨ In the spirit of the season, it's time to reshare our first short story and one of my favorites, Every Day.
