I just locked myself out of the house. Thankfully I left the window to the art studio open so I climbed through the window, which is about 5 ft off the ground 😵

I accidentally let a bunch of small bugs into the bathroom via an unclosed window

I later found a spider in the living room so I put it in there to eat the bugs. I told my hubby & he said he did the same thing w/ a grandaddy long legs this morning!

The bathroom is now the spider room! 😂

It always feels like all the wrong people die, but I think it’s because there are far more beloved people than there are bastards.

But maybe a more apt comparison is an epiphany I had about myself recently. At one point I thought, why have I had so many failed friendships that left me heartbroken? What's wrong with me?

& then I remember how I have so many MORE successful friendships & how I'm just good at placing boundaries

That's such a nice way of looking at it. Maybe this is a horrible analogy but I heard a similar thing about roadkill too.

It's sad when you see roadkill but often those roads indicate that there's TONS of wildlife just flourishing in that area.

If you're curious, I usually get three responses when people recognize that I'm American:

1. "Did you vote for Trump?" (rightfully in disgust)

2. "You better practice a Canadian accent so people won't think you're American."

3. "Oh, you're from the US? Congratulations on escaping!"

Thanks! It's still a work-in-progress (we'll be settling in Tasmania mid-January) but we're enjoying and exploring Melbourne in the meantime :)

My husband and I have moved to Australia!

We are slowly getting settled and then hopefully I can get back to making giant food art.

In the meantime, I've been doing tiny food sketches like this iconic Australian snack!
