This is like the worst game of telephone everβ¦
I do have the sense that state bars are looking for reasons not to have to deal with complaints about federal government attorneys. They might not like the challenge to their authority, it I bet they go along with it.
Oooooh they picked the right judge for it.
I recently had a conversation with a colleague who thought that both Legal Theory Blog and the Legal Theory Lexicon had been discontinued. This is just a reminder that both blogs are alive and well. Here are the links: buff.ly/zZ3OkvR & buff.ly/9CgJE1g
I think theyβre overlooking the need for a βcontact.β Purposeful availment describes a contactβit doesnβt exist in the ether without being attached to some actual forum contact. This at most shows a willingness to make a contact, but thatβs not enough to invoke state power.
The offer makes much more sense if understood in inverseβthat is, she has evidence of his wrongdoing that can be released if she is NOT given clemency.
Itβs a logic puzzleβ¦ Presumably thereβs no documentary evidence to prove a negative, so itβs a promise to publicly assert Trumpβs innocence in exchange for clemency. But by making the offer public, sheβs already asserting his innocence, so what additional benefit would there be in offering clemency?
The real reason I'm leaving The Great British Baking Show Trump is threatening bombing the likes of which Tehran has never seen Prue Leith
the Spectator accidentally recycled a subhed from a previous dayβs article about Tehran
Hi, lawyer here! This is not funny. Senators only do this when they're in extreme distress.
That's remarkable stuff. And really illustrates why the Millers of the world want there to be as little process as possible. Because process will stop their goals.
Happy Anniversary to those who celebrate cat attorneys.
Hereβs a tell: when you point to their hypocrisy it doesn't move them.
Hypocrisy is a feature not a bug of autocracy. Because it proves that the rules apply to you but not to them.
Canβt believe they released the Epstein files to cover up for the Melania movie.

okay hear me out
Statement from Michael and Susan Pretti Parents of Alex Jeffrey Pretti βWe are heartbroken but also very angry. Alex was a kindhearted soul who cared deeply for his family and friends and also the American veterans whom he cared for as an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA hospital. Alex wanted to make a difference in this world. Unfortunately, he will not be with us to see his impact. I do not throw around the βheroβ term lightly. However, his last thought and act was to protect a woman. The sickening lies told about our son by the administration are reprehensible and disgusting. Alex is clearly not holding a gun when attacked by Trumpβs murdering and cowardly ICE thugs. He had his phone in his right hand and his empty left hand is raised above his head while trying to protect the woman ICE just pushed down, all while being pepper sprayed. Please get the truth out about our son. He was a good man. Thank you.

Gosh, if only there were a constitutional mechanism for removing a president who is mentally ill and unfit to hold office.
Text from linked article, says: "Waymo confirmed that some self-driving supervisors are based in the Philippines and said they all have local licences and have been thoroughly vetted. A spokesman added that their role was not to drive cars but βprovide contextual inputβ to the car when needed, for example advising how to handle unusual traffic cones."
I'm late, but this is the first confirmation I've seen of Waymo using foreign-based remote operators. Prior, there was only a rumored podcast ep, immediately cease-and-desisted.

From the nationβs first president, a reminder that openness to those seeking freedom has been part of the American idea from the beginning.
Naming a police officer is not doxxing. We arenβt supposed to have secret police in America.
