for me as a person, winters are horrible for me as a migraine sufferer and if you follow me you know. And IMO if the uni run courses all year long I shouldnโ€™t have to ask for an accommodation to teach in the summer. Nor should emails about my condition be passed around for an informal accommodation

Summer is better because class size is around 100 rather than 500 so โ€ฆ reminding me I need to ask to have a class moved from a really horrible room

Because of strange things I teach this summer (and honestly I hope all summers for all summers I live in Calgary) and while Trump economic policies are ๐Ÿซฃ for teaching macro to first year macro Econ he has been a fucking gold mine for engagement

Look, right or (definitely) wrong, the President said โ€œother countries pay the tariffsโ€ so just hand a few hundred billion $ to Canada and other countries in easy lump sums and weโ€™ll sort it out.

Alberta Federation of Labour planning province-wide day of action | Globalnews.ca The Alberta Federation of Labour launched a new campaign on Saturday called Fight Back Now, aimed at protesting unpopular decisions made by the provincial government.

Too late. Lost momentum. Sometimes spending months registering potential support loses said support ๐Ÿคฆ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Iโ€™ll admit it was a bit of a mind fuck to be stationed internationally. Canadian bases always just blended. American bases were these fortresses and when granted entry, it was just America. It was weird

Military brat here. Hubby and I are same age but he is a civilian. Yet he grew up very differently than I. As a gen-X, the cold war was real and it definitely wasnโ€™t Canada that stirred the pot but, yes, we were in the line of fire

I am spinning on this. Had my mum out lived her husband she would have moved here to live with us. Same for hubbyโ€™s mum. Nothing to do with social programs. When we leave AB (in about 6-7 years iykyk) the plan is the same and their estate comes with. This statement haunts me. I mean DS must know

Seriously the only data we have credibly evidence on is Alberta putting social assistance recipients on a bus to B.C. (a one way ticket) back in the days of Klein soโ€ฆ

We heard, she said. Iโ€™d like for anyone to show me data, like real data that shows people move to qualify for social assistance. Now Iโ€™ll believe that people move for a bundle but not a chance in hell a low income senior moves from one prov to another for a few hun a year FFS

Hops on two feet. Education especially at k-12 as such expansive spillovers (externalities) that if someone had had any training in economics (cough) theyโ€™d know that it should be funded by revenues not tied to local property
