My favorite Kindle alternatives are the Boox readers. I have both the Palma gen 1 and a the Tab Ultra C for comic books and work related stuff. I am also thankful that many authors are available outside of the Amazon walled garden. For those who are not, pls reconsider.
Also, and I can't believe I'm saying this, but kudos to #GamesWorkshop, where I can directly purchase ePubs on their site without DRM. This is such a consumer friendly move. So if I can't find their ebooks on the store of my choice, I still have access to their ebooks for purchase. This is the way.

I want to read my ebooks my own way, in my own app of choice. I want to hoard them like I hoarded normal books half my life. I see no reason to get exited by another bookshop opening another locked ecosystem that forces me into another app.
