Someone else suggested an apartment building, maybe since each social hub can hold so many players, have that many rooms available and assign one to the players that join the hub so you can quickly see everyones, with locked rooms taking up slots if theres less than maximum players.
I'm a real big plan of the quest and story system, really helps to give some direction and also get some info on the setting you've created.
So I would say, more quests! More longer term ones or unusual things to do or try.
Some form of player home you can decorate and furnish, show your friends!
