On the bookshelves October 13th. Hope y’all like it:
YES - so happy to hear those vibes are coming through!
And thanks for checking out the book; I hope you have a good time with the rest of it.
Do this with ED WOOD and see who’s left standing at the end.
It's weird, gross, and fascinating how both AI and the people boosting AI are obviously just empty puppets for capital. They're bags into which money flows so that money can make more money. There's no thought or intent there, no arguments to respond to. It's all just money going slosh-slosh.
Wow!
It can be told!
I’ve read the screenplay; it’s wild and I love it. I can’t wait to see Franz and Fiala put it all on screen.

The beauty of Kelson's approach to living, the nastiness of the Jimmies, and the fact that they got me to care about (and at one point even worry about) Samson.
Abolish ICE.
There’s no reforming it.
There’s no compromise.
There’s only one way to rein in ICE’s terror campaign. Abolish it.
Yellow-framed glass-fronted door at Book Moon, covered in signs: Never Talk to Cops; 40 Ways to Fight Nazis. New sign says: All Are Welcome Except Vampires & I.C.E.
New sign at Book Moon:
No warning. March was moving along peacefully. Thousands of folks were pausing intermittently at the building to chant "Ice Out" and "Shame" and then marching left. Then multiple cannisters were fired. Crowd on Curry couldn't move forward through the smoke and had to crowd surge back a block.
Children, the elderly, folks in wheelchairs. It was so awful, and so wrong.
That's very cool!
Just started doing new data analysis and I know I keep saying this, but: I really, really don't think people appreciate how much this moral panic was a deliberate and extremely expensive invention.
some really cool, rare stuff here!
Just found out this dude’s store is called Dreamhaven Books. dreamhavenbooks.com
I don’t want to hear anything from an elected official unless it’s a plan to defund the DHS and impeach Noem, Bovino, etc. No texts. No emails. No talk about the economy. Step up or step off.
the president wont see your posts making fun of how he's looking these days but your friends whose skin seems to be sloughing off in wet discolored chunks as the psychic weight of their craven wretchedness becomes manifest will
This is a little bit my own bias - though I liked him in Prefontaine - but it's mostly based on audience metrics. Only Dallas Buyer's Club and Blade Runner 2049 have really popped off since that run. The Pretty Leto to Pulped Leto pipeline is what gets the people going.
Peak Jared Leto was his transgressive-novel-adaptation run of Fight Club, American Psycho, and Requiem for a Dream, all of which proved that the best use case for Jared Leto is to at some point see him viciously maimed and/or destroyed.
kinda wonder if the youths these days still have the same classic archetypes as we did, ya know like the Jock, the Stoner, the Cheerleader, the Silent Kid Who Was Ghostly Pale And Who'd Occasionally Tilt His Head Back And Weep Waterfalls Of Black Goo From His Vacant Haunted Eyes, the Nerd, etc
Sam!
That sounds great!

Can we put "lugubrious" up there? It sounds like a description of a lung infection, but it's not.
One of the strangest experiences of my life was seeing Zootopia 2 with my son the morning after seeing Maniac Cop 2 at the same theater (as part of Alamo's December to Dismember thing). Both films open with male and female cops (partners) enjoying their celebrated status after their heroic events in the first film, but at odds with each other, and their supervising chief, who seems weirdly distrusting of them, despite the goodwill they've presumably earned. The chief makes them see a police psychiatrist to work out their issues. The protagonists end up discovering a deeper conspiracy involving their city's corrupt power structures, which both somehow involve a jailbreak that releases a horde of dangerous criminals. Again, all of this happens in both Zootopia 2 and Maniac Cop 2, which I somehow saw within 12 hours of each other. I felt like I was having an out of body experience. Zootopia 2 is the Maniac Cop 2 of animated Disney films, is I guess what I'm saying.
I need to share this with someone
If you want kids to read your comic book, consider giving a cross section view of the bad guy lair
Depends on two factors I think:
1. Degree of trust and comfort with the friend's parents, and their ability to set the kids up for a safe and successful sleepover
2. Your comfort with the idea of being called anywhere between 9pm-5am to come pick up your kid if they aren't digging the sleepover
The first two guests of honor announced for the PKD Fest in Fullerton Aug 20th-23rd. We will welcome The Award-winning author and academic Brian Evenson, and NY Times Best-selling author Sarah Langan.
