For me it's the fact that they pretend they need more donations to keep the site independent, while they use the bulk of these donations for something else. Also, they have extra money they use to fund other projects instead of using it to pay their contributors, that are all doing this for free.

Oh it's nothing nefarious, it's just that they have plenty of money to run the website already, so much that they are branching out and giving grants and stuff like that.
