Excited to share our new @chemicalscience.rsc.org paper! We show that the fluorescent DNA base analogue ABN performs exceptionally under two-photon excitation, enabling single-molecule detection with >10× brightness vs other analogues and improved photostability. pubs.rsc.org/en/content/a...
Our latest paper is now out in @rscchembio.rsc.org! DEAtC exists as a dark, T-like tautomer in single strands, but when it base-pairs with G in dsDNA it shifts to a bright, C-like tautomer, explaining the mechanism behind its selective fluorescence turn-on signal. 😃 pubs.rsc.org/en/content/a...
I'm very excited to share that my research group has been awarded 3 new major grants this summer, an NIH MIRA, an NSF single-investigator, and another NSF with the Ralph Kleiner Lab. These focus on fluorescent nucleosides and RNA chemical biology. New group photo too! Yay team! 🥳
