What country is this ? In the UK its still not the norm think, and as an older person I can't put mine back on without help due to arthritis. If I lived somewhere where it was ubiquitous I wouldn't wear lace ups.

stack of 'jelly cubes'- the gelatin product you add boiling water to to make jelly. In the 70s kids would eat them as is (well I did anyway!)
Staple Sunday afternoon treat of the 1970s UK child- when your mum was making jelly you would beg for a cube or two. (If you have only used jelly crystals before, you just break the block up into a jug and add hot water to dissolve it.)

Same. I miss the quiet. Also I can never get a seat because it's crammed with people using the WiFi. Nothing wrong with that but there are fewer people there to read books I feel.
