Wow, you were lucky. When I was little we didn't have a basement so we had to run to one of the neighbors. I didn't mind, they had toys and games in the basement! Of course our parents were happy we were distracted.
@breneke
Kansas to Belgium with stops along the way. More likely to reply/like than skeet, since most of you say it better/funnier than I can. True blue, both politics and baseball. I confess to being earnest - I think it's important.

Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. They really are destructive.
Good. I hope the bad weather is over now.
Oh so glad to hear that! We were away today so I'm only seeing this now, and hopefully the thunderstorms/hail didn't materialize either. Glad you're safe. ๐
And from Belgium!
I hate watching routs, even if it's my team doing the routing (is that a word?) You just start to feel bad for the other team.

Is this . . . a young Paul McCartney? (It's early and I haven't had my coffee, so I may be seeing things.)
Eh. I saw enough as a kid. But I do miss (??) the feeling just before the storm - green sky, hair raising on your arms. There's nothing else like it.
Did you guys have any tornadoes? Hopefully only the hail!
Keep us updated if you can, or at least let us know when it's over. We'll be thinking of you and hoping that everything is okay. ๐
I hadn't either! ๐ฝ
๐ค I'm honored!
We're all expendable to them.
He made it up especially for her! Awww . . .
I lived in Kansas, so know exactly what you mean. The minute the tornado sirens went off, all the neighborhood dads were out on the front porch trying to spot it. One of my earliest memories was our roof being blown off in one piece, and set down in our back yard. Crushing our swing set - sob!
Picture of a tornado approaching a back yard where a man is mowing the grass. The It's Fine dog is sitting on a chair asking 'Is this fine?' and the man mowing the grass answers 'This is fine.'
I hope they avoid you! Sounds like you're prepared and know the drill. Stay safe!
Thanks for the link! I've downloaded it and will start it as soon as I finish my current book. ๐ฅฐ
Oh, and happy birthday to your Mum! ๐ฅณ
Sound like fun - hope you enjoy it!
Those following the founders failed to update the system. They gave us the means to do so, but everyone who profits from the status quo is against it. And they use the 'founding fathers' as a shield, like they were some kind of all-knowing saints or something. Time for change!
Ah well, less likely to get in trouble that way. But don't do it all the time!
I have that problem, too! Layers are great until you have to carry them around all day.
in spite of best intentions . . .
I too have a soft belly, but somehow it's not as adorable as Daisy's. Just doesn't seem fair.
That eyebrow thing . . . he's from central casting.
The problem is definitely with bsky, not us (for once!) ๐
My husband speaks English at native speaker level but he always has the subtitles on for HIGNFY or QI - there's just too many different accents and they speak over each other! On the TV here they subtitle speakers from West Flanders because the dialect is so different.
Drawing of smiling daisies on an orange background, with 'have a nice day' in the center.
Brrr! It's around 5 right now but they're predicting 18 later!!!! We're having a record-breaking week of warm temperatures for March. The birds are loving it, but I always worry that it's going to turn and then all the plants will suffer from the cold since they're too far along.
It just sounds better in an Irish accent!
