Happy birthday! ππ
Happy birthday! ππ
I think Nebraska is really pretty to drive through. Just me? π₯²
Alt text: overhead shot of a desk, with a blue/white marbled desk mat, a small white keyboard with transparent blue and purple keycaps, and my sweater-clad arm resting on the desk. The sweater sleeve is handspun and handknit in marled stripes of varying blues and purples, with a gray cuff. Matchy!
Okay, well today I learned that Bluesky lacks the feature to add alt text after posting, so I'll add it in a comment.
Hi, yes. I usually do, but I forget sometimes. I'll add it after I post this comment. π
Well, that was unintentional, but I'm not mad about it. ππ
I was recalling fondly how the internet used to scream when you turned it on and that might have been a warning.
π Just in time for September. I have a feeling this one's going to be knit or crocheted...and it's all going to fit on this bobbin, mark my words. #handspun #fiberarts
I'm getting back into content creation over on Twitch, and my Substack has suffered a little, but things are falling into place. I still struggle with thinking every written post has to be a masterpiece, and that's just not how any of this works. Striking a balance is where it's at. π€
I've posted here (and IG, and tumblr) only a handful of times since May. I've been making! All the time! Maybe I'll put together a catch-up post to show what I've been up to this summer. Until then, enjoy the most autumn of bobbins. π

Congratulations! And oh, what a layout for it. π€©
Wooden pin loom with a sky blue and gray piece in progress.
Spending some quality time with my pin loom today. It's a slow craft, but a nice focus activity. I bought this for bias weaving, but I've really fallen in love with three-layer weaving as well!

A Noro Rikka warp π± in a reed that's too dense for it π± (oh my)! The past few days have been about experiments and breaking rules. The rules are often there for very good reasons, but sometimes you have to find out for yourself and decide if they're worth breaking from time to time.

Extremely bright hot pink yarn (weft) on a multicolor hand-dyed warp (pink, white, yellow, orange, purple bits...). A darning needle sits atop a bit of weaving, and a boat shuttle rests on the warp in the background. The next photos are the same from different angles.
Grandma hobbies???
Anyway, this yarn color is called If I Wanted Exposure, I'd Get My Tits Out. The other one is called Marine Diesel. Also, I know some sick-ass grandmas. Get your head right.

It's technically an eight-shaft twill, but with the treadling I plan to use it shows up more like tabby with some interesting vertical lines in it. Strickler #22
I certainly hope so! I'm using some more deep stash for the weft. π©·
I worry for people who increasingly believe we should only be ourselves behind the closed doors of our homes.
A multicolored (pink, orange, purple, white) chain of weaving warp yarn sits atop The Ashford Book of Weaving, which sits atop the breast beam of a Swedish floor loom.
An angled view of brightly variegated yarn tied onto the apron bar of a weaving loom. Colors include white, hot pink, orange, yellow, and purple.
This yarn by @kralalien.bsky.social is so much fun. I can't wait to see how it turns out. ππ§‘π©·β¨
When youβre in the middle of change, it feels like you donβt know where youβre going.
Job hunting has always been soul crushing, but this time I'm taking it on as more of a soul searching activity. It still feels like shouting into the void, but now I'm holding out for the right shout back. πΏ
Well this is just delightful! π»π·πͺ»
I don't need to be on Threads.
I shared this with some folks yesterday and commented that they'd make fabulous fidget toys!
Oh thank you! This ended up not being the final layout, but I'm still very satisfied with what I came up with. Photos...soonish!
Truly!
The way my brain went from "What am I looking at" to "Whoa that's incredible!" after zooming in on the photo. π€―
A hand holds a lock of Lincoln longwool, showcasing the varied natural colors of the fleece. The wool has a deep U-shaped crimp and is quite lustrous.
A black and green striped cross-arm spindle with maple shaft sits atop a wooden work table. A small amount of gray-brown wool has been spun onto it, and a lock of the wool sits to the side.
I'm not quite done sharing these lovely Lincoln locks I picked up during a trip to Kentucky last year. The shop intended them for felting, but look! π₯Ή
An hand holds a deep blue/purple tonal skein of single-ply yarn. A tattoo of three small sheep, adorns the visible forearm. Below the hand and skein, more than a dozen crocheted hexagons are arranged in a pleasing pattern, in colors of blue, purple, navy, gray, and black.
Scheming...

Isn't it lovely? It's Lana Grossa Pappagallo, but it's basically a slightly thinner duplicate for Berroco Wizard. There are a few chainette yarns out there like it. Very soft and lofty!
A hand rests atop a plain weave project. The yarn is self-striping in the following colors: blue, teal, brown, and various shades of gray.

Sunday vibes. π
