An African Cuttlefish (Sepia bertheloti) swimming about the sea floor. Most of its arms are drooping down, but its two centre arms are raised up and crossing at the tops. The centre arms are forming a heart shape, like a human doing a heart hands gesture. The cuttlefish is yellow, ranging from beige to dark yellow. It has papillae raised above its eyes.

My sister pointed out that Ohio's own groundhog, Buckeye Chuck, apparently has a higher rate of accuracy than Puxatony Phil.
I retorted, "So you're telling me Americans are more willing to listen to someone famous who's been proven to be demonstrably wrong more often?"

If an elderly, glaucoma stricken groundhog is paraded out to predict the weather in their twilight year... do they see 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 shadow or nothing at all?
The first Groundhog's Day was February 2, 1887. 139 years ago.
The lifespan of a groundhog is 2-3 years in the wild or up to 6 in captivity.
Being 𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 generous, we've gone through about 24 Puxatony Phils.
The shadow to no shadow ratio is approximately 5:1.
How do they... determine this?
