One thing I am seeing misreported in the media today about the Skrmetti ruling is a claim that the supreme court ruled this is "about age, not transgender status."

SCOTUS also ruled this is about "diagnosis, not transgender status"

Bans targeting adults are likely legal under this ruling.

I’m so sorry to hear that.

When almost all trans-related news is objectively terrible, now, more than ever, we need journalists who provide proper framing because we just can’t mentally handle everything being a “hair on fire” take.

Can’t even tell you how many times I’ve had to talk friends off of ledges after they’ve read her articles.

I realize she’s not a lawyer. But at least provide some context for legal decisions about who it may affect and why instead of just “this is really bad” and sending everyone into a panic.

The order also makes even more apparent the Court’s disdain for nationwide injunctions. Which is just as alarming because it suggests that the Court is going to allow the administration to do all sorts of unconstitutional things in the short-term under the guise of judicial restraint.

I’m glad somebody finally said it.

Trump Military Ban Says Being Trans Conflicts With "Honorable, Truthful, Disciplined Lifestyle" The ban leaves much of the details to defense secretary Hegseth for implementation.

This is absolutely abhorrent and dehumanizing, not only to treat service members with such disregard, but also to characterize trans people in general as dishonest, dishonorable, undisciplined, and selfish. It doesn’t get any more clear what this administration intends.
