It's #ScholarshipSaturday! Researchers discovered that the red-bellied lemur and the red-fronted lemur often keep the adventure going at night—sometimes traveling even farther than they do during the day. Meanwhile, the black-and-white ruffed lemur prefers more daylight activity.

Meet Decken’s sifaka!
One of nine sifaka species, these acrobatic lemurs spend their days searching for food. With powerful hind legs, they launch themselves from tree to tree—sometimes gliding through the air with parachute-like folds along their sides.

An early arrival to the 2026 Baby Season, critically endangered Coquerel’s sifaka Junius was born October 12 to first-time mom Francesca and dad Remus — and he’s the great-grandson of Jovian, the beloved star of Zoboomafoo!

This crowned lemur may be showing off that tongue, but when it comes to staying connected, it’s all about the sound! Crowned lemurs often split into small foraging subgroups of 1–4 individuals and use loud, “piercing yaps” to keep track of one another when they’re far apart.

Black and White Ruffed lemurs are the largest quadrupedal lemurs in Madagascar. Their bodies measure about 20 inches long, but that extra-long tail—stretching around 23 inches—does some serious work, helping them balance as they move through the rainforest canopy.

Red-fronted brown lemurs are sexually dichromatic—which means males and females wear totally different looks!
