Ha! I spent a chunk of my childhood attending an Australian international school in PNG — so I returned to small-town Ontario with a very strong Aussie accent. I can still hear it in my voice when I hear a recording of myself, 40 years later.

I can't believe Netflix is now $27!!! I am going to bundle our streaming accounts into our Rogers tv package and save about $25 per month. But how do I get them to work on the tv that is not equipped with Rogers box? There is no Rogers app on our Roku TVs. Does anyone know of a work-around?

I absolutely agree. Shame has to switch sides. The audacious lack of shame for truly shameful behaviour is somehow polluting all aspects of our society. Shame needs to shift from victims to careless perpetrators and enablers.

Amazing! Many years ago, I spent a month or so in Costa Rica to improve my Spanish skills — but my boyfriend went too, so I didn't learn as much as I should have. Immersion is key. Otherwise, it's just tourism. 😆

Interesting. I know that in Ontario schools, we were always taught Parisien French, rather than Quebecois French(which seemed unjust, in my opinion). Accents are so interesting to me.

My son has a 854-day streak on Duolingo for French, but won't speak it in front of us. I'd love for him to have an immersion experience sometime.

My former high school Geography teacher told me about the good old days when the school board paid for him to spend several months in St. Pierre and Miquelon to learn French so he could be the school's French Immersion teacher. Wow!

Right? I thought I would share it because you never know who might love the opportunity and just never thought of it, or would rather go knowing they have a connection to someone else who will be there.

I am an old mom, so many of my favourite former high school students were having kids when I was. We are all Facebook friends and raising our kids together. 😆

Going to give it a try. Survived an illness and came out weak. I've always been really strong without trying, but now I am going to have to work at regaining my strength so I have it for the long run.

I am still in touch with my beloved Gr 3/4 teacher. She chose to teach in a remote international school in PNG & influenced me in so many ways. Now retired in Arizona, she is an artisan weaver. She just sent me this beautiful towel woven from naturally coloured cotton that changes colour in water. ❤️
