Handey (Deep Thoughts) remains a master at drawing laughs via ludicrous conceits. The short pieces & old SNL sketches compiled here prove it. From "Where My Candidacy Went Wrong": I tried to kiss a baby while it was nursing. ๐คฃ #Booksky
The longer I look, the worse that map gets. ๐๐คฆโโ๏ธ
Not *every* corner. Heck, I'd have to cross TWO(!) streets just to reach one.
A #TBT Christmas post from 10 years ago. The references are a little (re: a lot) dated, but Deadpoolio had a lot of fun with this. What up @brightsidesun.bsky.social gang? #PhoenixSuns #Suns
From the people who brought a drowning man water:
"A Child, a Child shivers in the cold
Let us bring him silver and gold"
-lyrics from "Do You Hear What I Hear?"
Same boat. They'll get written eventually.
A new Bulwark reader?
That's good. It's a lot less fun using their full identities.
(It's also sue-able.)
A lot. What do you want to know? I'll get my notes. One sec....

Filled with fascinating & hilarious medical vignettes from a newly-graduated doc assigned to a rural Russian town โ the Russian Revolution. Excels when capturing the universal doubt of fresh-faced professionals. #BookSky

Happy birthday, Lumi! ๐๐๐
And now, a controversial post:
"Wonderful Christmastime" by Paul McCartney is one of my favorite Christmas songs.
This is hilarious for its truth. ๐คฃ
Oddly apropos. ๐
Those still have uses.
When Amazon went after Thursday Night Football, the timer started on others following suit. I believe it's a fraught and damaging long-term strategy for leagues, but man, those companies will pay through the nose to get people into their streaming ecosystems. Doesn't make them desirable, though.
It's my one-year Bluesky anniversary, and all I got myself was this lousy re-post of my first post on here.
You're right. The best horror lives in the mind. It's what isn't revealed that haunts a reader.
Coincidentally, The Langoliers might be my favorite Stephen King story. You're in a place of honor, sir!
Thanks for putting in the effort, guys.
It's so dumb. A shot should count as a shot. Period. C'mon, NBA!
Never thought I'd feel so bad for the hyenas.
Impressive in the dress-and-jacket combo.
That's dedication. And that's whom you're casting aside by shutting out local broadcasts.
So keep chasing the dwindling attention spans of "cord cutters" and Gen Z, Adam Silver. Just don't be surprised when the most loyal fans you took for granted all these years stop showing up.
end rant/
I built my college schedule around Suns games. When I was hospitalized, I turned on the TV to watch. When I had food poisoning, I had one eye open as Goran Dragic torched the Spurs in Game 3 of the 2010 West Semis. I watched when the Suns were good and when they were paper-bag-over-the-head bad. 3/
I'm a lifelong @sunsphx.bsky.social fan. Started back in 1995. I've watched every game since at least 2000.
Every. One.
That's changing tonight because the Suns vs. Rockets game is only streaming on the bird. I had hoped local broadcasts wouldn't be affected by the new media deal; I was wrong. 2/
Dear @nba.com,
Peacock-exclusive NBA games is a mistake. Letting NBC prop up its streaming platform with your content is profoundly dumb. But what do you care so long as the checks clear, right? Still, allow me to explain, if you care to hear, the kind of fan you're alienating with this policy. 1/
You could also be a budding graphic design hobbyist. Or someone with taste.
I'm looking at the logos again...sigh. I really want to know who was consulted for this and what constraints they were working within.
Phoenix Mercury rebrand logos.
I read the press release on the Phoenix Mercury rebrand. I see what they were going for. Still not a fan. All I'm seeing is a simplified color palette that is easier to slap on merch.
And if you think I'm trading in my old Taurasi jersey for *this* logo...nope!
