This is the last one from the firing! During my classes, I've been working on some cups for an upcoming woodfire to see how this translates to a different body and firing. I'm hoping to get some sweet woodash drips!

I do make cups and stuff, I promise. But I really love forms that leave the field for function open: Vases, boxes, censers, platters.
These open ended containers allow for endless play on my end and versatile use on the owners’ end. It’s a collaborative field and I love that. Do what you want 💖

A great read! I severely dislike the gatekeeping and snobbery that some people hold over being an artist and artistic practice. I firmly believe that if you can manifest your ideas into form through creative expression, then you are an artist.

Thank you so much! It's about 13 inches tall and all coil built. It's lowfire earthenware covered in terra sig that gets scraped away. After it's bisque fired it gets an umber wash and fired again. Then it gets painted with watered down mason stains and gerstley borate and a crawling glaze.
