Back when I had the leagues thing turned on I would stress way more about XP and stuff but now it’s so much more chill 😌 I prefer to worry about keeping my streak and learning some vocab every day, and surprisingly I do use some vocab now thanks to Duolingo??

네, 가끔 '안녕하세요'라고만 말해도 그 사람이 (보통 아줌마 ㅋㅋ) "와, 한국어 정말 잘하시네요!"라고 해주셨어요 ㅎㅎ 그리고 한국에서 만난 친구들과는 한국어와 영어를 섞어서 얘기했어요. 근데 독일에서 한국 친구들과는 그렇게 많이 한국어를 말하지 않지만, 한국에서는 훨씬 더 많이 말했던 것 같아요.... 왜 그런지 모르겠지만, 한국에서는 더 자신감 있게 한국어를 말했던 것 같아요.

Und ich will danach auch noch einen Master machen… aber vielleicht mache ich zwischen Bachelor und Master ein bisschen Pause, mein Kopf braucht das 🫠

Ich muss langsam anfangen für meine Klausuren zu lernen, damit ich alle bestehe, nächstes Semester meine Bachelorarbeit schreibe und endlich meinen Bachelor abschließe 👩‍🎓 Ich will einfach nur meinen Abschluss kriegen!!! Ich kann nicht mehr!!!!

oh yes I always use Sie when I meet someone in a more formal setting, but I kinda feel awkward asking if I can duzen 😅 and I also never know if I should keep calling someone “Herr/Frau/Dr. …”or switch to their first name at some point when writing emails

and i decided to write to him in english to avoid formality stress (aka never knowing when to use Sie or du)!! i just texted a german friend about this and i hope she can help me, bc even reddit couldn’t help me hsjsjjs

i spent most of my day wondering if it’s ok to just write ‘Hello [first name]’ to my german supervisor since he has a phd and formalities are super important in germany, but also he signed off with only his first name and wrote ‘Hello Julia,’ to me 🫠

wait no this doesn’t even make sense, i’d still have to choose between spanish and portuguese hh tho i always choose portuguese if i have the option, but i feel like here in germany it’s easier to find a spanish version

also, i can’t wait for the day when i can finally read han kang in korean!! it might take some years but wow i have to reread her books in the original language one day

there’s always sth that goes missing in a translation, and i wish i could read everything in its original language, but sadly i can’t do that 😔

but like right now i’m reading my second murakami book in german and idk if i should read my next murakami book in english for a change or stick to german? and also han kang, i’ve read two of her books in portuguese, one in german and i’m going to read greek lessons in english soon, but idk..

whenever i want to read a translated book i never know which language i should read it in… sometimes it’s easy to choose, like if idk the original book is in italian, then it makes sense to read it in portuguese or spanish bc they’re both more similar to italian than german or english

the book “the little prince” in korean, in a german-french version and a vocabulary notebook underneath them
