Cover art is part of the cost of publishing. It needs to be part of the budget.

Public domain artwork exists if hiring an artist isn't in the budget. Use GIMP (free & open source) to photo bash something cool. Hell, use MS Paint. Be resourceful & creative w/out exploiting artists.

I will throw out there that I've had a story accepted only to learn they used an AI cover for the issue after the fact. None of us (as far as I know) were told. I've since quit subbing to them as well.

Very annoyed with myself for letting my first PC go when my folks moved. Drilled the harddrive and let the tower go to a donation place. Pentium III with 64mb of RAM. Windows 2000 Pro. First PC I built from my uncle's spare parts bin...damn...

Haven't been writing much this month, but I went through revisions for both Midwestern Chrome and Help! I can't Stop Shitting Snakes.
