BETTER LATE THAN NEVER? The Washington Cascades could see 4-6+ feet of snow next week. And even the #Seattle lowlands could see a few snowflakes 👀

Despite La Nina in effect, Seattle just finished up tied for its 8th-warmest winter on record at Sea-Tac. But what does this winter *not* have in common with those other years? None of the others were La Nina winters. #wawx #lanina #enso #seattle #winter
For only the 3rd time in Sea-Tac Airport history (1945) it appears Seattle will go an entire winter without a day that failed to reach at least 40 degrees.

Well, at least we got to see *some* snow this winter.
That was one amazing lightning bolt that rattled the Lynnwood/Edmonds area earlier this evening. Weather observers spotted it from: Arlington (AWO), Everett (PAE), Bremerton (PWT), Seattle/Boeing Field (BFI), Sea-Tac (SEA), and Renton (RNT). You can see it in the remark field "LTG DSNT (Direction)"
And now that sudden gust of southerly wind in reverse is all American hockey fans now exhaling 😂
That big surge of wind through the Fraser Valley just now was all of Canada exhaling from surviving overtime in men's hockey 😂
#Seattle may not *quite* be done with the snow chances just yet but at least it won’t be a goose-egg in 2025-2026 winter snow tally. For at 7:58 a.m. on Feb. 17, snow was finally observed at Sea-Tac Airport!
For 13 minutes.

Snow is, for the first time this winter, legitimately in the #Seattle forecast. But sorry to say for snow fans, it's not the most exciting snow forecast we could bring you.

Heh just like the last time the #Seahawks won a Super Bowl, the weather went to crap in the host city just after the events ended. 😂
Remember it snowed heavily in northern NJ the day after the Seahawks beat the Broncos.
Just going to leave this here 😂🥳 (Only 1 point off on the total score in my prediction with KIRO FM last week. No, I didn’t bet on it 🤦🏻♂️) #Seahawks
Remember Seattle no jaywalking when swarming the streets 😂😂😂🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
#Seattle has never hosted a Super Bowl -- among the top reasons is likely our February weather. But is it really that bad?
My ECWB looks into "what would have happened" if each Super Bowl since 2002 was held in Seattle:

Groundhog Day in #Seattle much calmer than 110 years ago when the city was smacked by the greatest measured one-day snowfall in the city's history (21.5 inches!)
(But wait till you see how the month ended:..)

As you might have heard, the “atmospheric river” moniker has been getting tossed around in the #Seattle forecast lexicon again — and it’s true. But maybe it should be more like an "atmospheric brook" instead of "river" this time.

64 degrees in #Seattle in early February? Really? Winter weather fans, let’s hope the forecast models are engaging in some reverse psychology:

The last morsels of rain that we’ll likely see for hundreds of hours are heading north of the border tonight as high pressure starts to build in from the south.
It’s a ridge of high pressure that WILL. NOT. BUDGE. FOR. DAYS.

A storm inbound for late Saturday and Sunday (and Monday!) is tapping into warm, tropical moisture (again) and will qualify as about a moderate-intensity atmospheric river, threatening river rises.

Winter has been more of a “lose”ter for cold and snow fans so far around #Seattle, but there may be at least a wintry teaser Wednesday night and Thursday morning with some rain/snow mix or wet snow around the higher hills.
