Ain’t but one type of love story I could ever tell and that’s most assuredly a fucked up one.
Excited about these two. The second will be the follow-up to LINE. It’ll most likely be titled, DWAYNE.
I have an article in this issue! Big thanks to Greg Michalson, @crystalwilki.bsky.social, and @davidjoy.bsky.social for sharing their advice on writing difficult scenes.

I read David Joy's Those We Thought We Knew a year ago and was moved. The author's recent appeal on Instagram has reinforced the impression. It is prescient and timely, taken during an era when we are told to ignore the truth and turn from history. It hits! Read it soon. @davidjoy.bsky.social
I don’t got a TikTok and I sure never intended for that video to be out, honestly didn’t even know it was recorded, but glad the words are out there.

Yesterday marked a decade since that book wandered off into the world.
Payment upon publication is the equivalent of getting a new roof put on your house and telling the roofers you’ll cut the check next time it rains real good.
My first year writing students do often enjoy it.
Thank you for reading it. I’m glad it resonated. Swing the fucking axe, friend.
When you can visibly see someone drowning at the bottom of a pool, “Take a deep breath,” is not sound advice.
It’s always said you can’t see the forest for the trees but sometimes it’s the goddamn forest.

Grande joie d’avoir accompagné @davidjoy.bsky.social pendant 4 semaines en librairie et en festivals. C’était 🤩🤩🤩 (sans parler de l’avalanche de coups de cœur-libraires et d’une presse très très enthousiaste)

Last night I was talking to a mother who lives with rocks tied to her ankles and treads water every minute of every day with wild ones crawling over her shoulders and bowling pins juggled by her hands. She was beat. “Even God had a day of rest,” I said. “And that must be how they know he was a man.”
You know what happens when you make a banana pudding for fifteen people but you single and don’t fucks with nobody? You eat a fifteen person banana pudding all by your self!
Especially with the real fucked up stuff. All, “He told me that when Thad Broom cut the soles off that man’s feet and made him walk to his own grave, he said, ‘I wrote that just for you, my one true love.’”
Say what you want, but I kind of hope someone comes forward after I croak and claims to have been my muse.
Goodnight moon.
Sort of about books, but mostly about woods. tombeckbe.com/blogs/field-...
Kicked this book out into the void two months ago and all I know is if it’s the one thing I left behind I’d be alright with that.
