The beautiful frilly underside of double snowdrops
#FlowersOnFriday Wonderful double snowdrops by the river yesterday. Must be in a sheltered spot as they are much earlier than the peeping stalks I've seen elsewhere. Delightful! #bloomscrolling #DailyFlowers #Lancashire #vitaminN

#MorningPrayer
Lord Jesus,
take from our hearts
any preoccupation
with our own image, status,
position, title, or acclaim.
Fill our hearts instead
with a longing
to know and to follow your will,
to engage in your mission
of grace and peace,
to share your love
through all we are.

The latest edition of Practical Theology is out. Great to see my article about wisdom and older people living in care homes brought into dialogue with ‘the nature and purpose of the Church’ in the editorial. @rsmtht.bsky.social @practicaltheology.bsky.social

Let nothing disturb you.
Let nothing frighten you.
All things pass away.
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things.
They who have God lack nothing.
God alone is enough.

A prayer for Prisons Week
Lord, you offer freedom to all people.
We pray for those in prison.
Break the bonds of fear and isolation that exist.
Support with your love all prisoners,
their families and friends,
prison staff, and all who care.
Heal those who have been wounded by the activities
of others, especially the victims of crime.
Help us to forgive one another,
and to act justly, love mercy
and walk humbly together with Christ
in his strength and in his Spirit,
now and every day.
Amen.
A prayer for Prisons Week, which begins today.

A portrait of Julian of Norwich
Be a Gardener
Dig a ditch
Toil and sweat
And turn the earth upside down
And seek the deepness
And water plants in time
Continue this labour
And make sweet floods to run
and noble and abundant fruits to spring
Take this food and drink
and carry it to God as your true worship
(Julian of Norwich)

#MorningPrayer
Refresh in us, Lord,
day by day and hour by hour,
our awareness of your presence,
of your dwelling in us and among us.
As we navigate
the opportunities and challenges,
the possibilities and temptations of life,
help us hear and follow your voice,
your call to love.
