WNO is a terrific opera company with a visionary director that champions new talent in the opera world. They've recently left their home at The Kennedy Center and are in a transitional phase, so #SupportWNO... and who knows? Maybe you'll see another opera of mine there sometime soon. ;)
That led to a premiere at the Kennedy Center, which then led to a deep, year-long collaboration with some figure skating royalty: Lori Nichol and Carolina Kostner.

combining Puccini's leftover sketches with key quotations from the completed portions of the opera, alongside my own new melodies (many of which were built from inverted fragments of Puccini's themes).

Writing a new completion of Puccini's "Turandot" was one of the most daunting and challenging things I've ever done. Note-for-note, I spent more time writing this piece than anything else I've written by far.
