Really good piece - especially to make all your cis friends read, the ones who support trans rights but feel confused about some of the rhetoric out there about puberty blockers, etc. Really grounds it in reality (as major news outlets seem unable to do.)

Dear Lucy Three weeks ago you wrote me a bizarre letter in an attempt to hold on to voters who Labour have for too long taken for granted in Gorton and Denton. First, I’d like to give my apologies for the delay in getting back to you. I've been busy on the ground with Hannah Spencer talking to voters about the issues that matter to them – lowering bills, protecting the NHS and rebuilding our public services. You'll appreciate most of your letter is out of date now, but I'm sure you'll have seen the poll that came out today, that puts us in first place and Reform in second. Labour are a distant third and it’s now clearer than ever that your party cannot win in Gorton and Denton. If you are as concerned about stopping Reform as you proposed in your letter, the course is now clear: in the spirit in which you wrote to me, you should now urge your members and former voters to back Hannah Spencer on the 26th February to stop Reform and make hope normal again. One of the things I find frustrating about sci-fi is that because of the American influence of it, all of the planets are called things like Zexion 5 and Danshassia 7. I’d call them things like ‘Nether Roundthorpe’ and ‘Spheresbury’. Gravity Bywell. Chalfont St Globeby. Bishop’s Goitre.

Anyone who had genuine concerns about youth gender medicine would staunchly and wholeheartedly support social transition. Let kids explore their identities to see what works for them!

The fact that this movement opposes even pronouns and haircuts shows that it's just bigotry all the way down.

Cass had the data and government resources to investigate whether this moral panic was true but instead of looking at it critically she just reinforced the panic.

The Women’s Institute was pressured to exclude trans women by the threat of litigation brought and paid for by JKR’s legal fund.
So now the newly trans-hostile WI groups are haemorrhaging members and many groups are folding, closing opportunities for all women.
Well done JK and the GCs, eh?
