A bumblebee of summer’s past, seeking nectar from a sweet pea blossom.
We found a bumblebee on our cold driveway tonight, immobile but one leg still moving. I moved her to rest beneath the heather bush, surrounded by gentle layers of dried leaves. I keep thinking about her tonight, her fate in nature’s hands…hoping my small intervention is helpful and forgivable. 🥺
