I submitted comments about orbital satellites and light pollution. The deadline is TOMORROW and the process is a little more involved than for other legislation you may have commented on, so you should hop on that now if you want to comment. Process in link

If a draft happens, we need to agree to help soldiers avoid it. We need to help them dodge/hide them. Poor kids who just wanted a college education, access to a career or structure after a turbulent childhood should not have to die in an Apocalypse Now clusterfuck that absolutely nobody wants.
Post it reads: Donβt take all your small freedoms and remaining abilities for granted.
Okay. One more for today because i just dropped a new post-it mirror reminder for myself.

It does make every conversation about who is documented and who is undocumented 10 times more ridiculous. Erasing a marginalized community and erasing the records of the community is incredibly easy. Sure it is fire and flooding, but also a lot of these reviews are not digitized or indexed.
I have no idea if I can prove anything because these are the thinnest ties on paper since half the state held records were destroyed in the US and in Canada.
In genealogy news I think I found my great grandfather's biological father in a settlement in Ontario that was destroyed by white landowners. There's a theme in the history on both sides.
A handful of Republicans in Congress & Supreme Court can end this nightmare any time they choose, and history will remember them as saviors of the republic, no matter what terrible things they did to US in last 10 years: insane we cannot find a few volunteers for this plum deal!
omg i need this in my brain NOW

The entire power elite of the USA owns this savagery forever, including the theoretical opposition party, unless you beat the drums of IMPEACHMENT for Trump immediately and donβt stop until heβs gone. Heβs given you 700,000 reasons now and itβs one of the only tools you have. USE IT.
Pictured are 3 DVDs: a double feature of both versions of Footloose, the cover of each showing the characters dancing behind the movie neon font title; Batman Year One, with the Caped Crusader flying in through his own black silhouette-like bat symbol; Angels in America, the two-part HBO production of Tony Kushner's acclaimed play about life in the United States during the AIDS epidemic.
The covers of 3 biographies. From left to right: James Wong Howe, The Camera Eye, about the legendary cinematographer; Jim Henson, The Biography, by Brian Jay Jones, the cover showing Henson in his early 40s, with Kermit the Frog perched on one shoulder and Ernie from Sesame Street standing in front of him; the cover of John Cassavetes' Lifeworks is dominated by a blue-tinged black and white photo of the filmmaker holding a 35mm film camera on his shoulder

Greetings, new friends! You may know me as an author, a prolific Bluesky poster and 4th place finisher on So You Call That Dancing? But you might not know that my partner Judith (@mzpress) and I have an online arts bookstore that's growing every day. Full inventory here: mzs.press/EVERYTHING-W...
THREAD: I got laid off from NYMag/Vulture after 14 years. The family lost 75% of income + medical. Now mzs.press bookstore, once a side project. is do-or-die for Judith & I. I feel weird telling you this because others are doing much worse. But if you could like or share this, we'd be so grateful!
i bid on one and i'm so excited!!! <3 I have a piece from a long time ago from you and it's also florals!
It never ceases to amaze me that Trump destroyed a country the EXACT same way he destroyed his business ventures.

I'm still doing a GoFundMe to help my parents rebuild after a devastating house fire. The costs of doing so, with an uninsured house, are extremely high. My parents are elderly and low-income and my disabled brother lives with them. I deeply appreciate shares of this link!
