People lack confidence in their own party because the biggest public voices supposedly on their side spend more time criticizing them than their ideological opponents. Look at every major leftist account. It’s constantly attacking Dems and not republicans. I can pull dozens of examples right now

They did do something to try to protect democracy. The entire latter half of Kamala’s campaign was basically “help me protect democracy.” I don’t know what you expect them to actually do currently when they are the minority in both houses and don’t control the presidency
