a black and white British Rail poster titled "The argument for electrifying our railways, will become clearer in time." with four panels showing scenes from 1978, 1987, 1995 and 2005 with oil running out over that period
"The argument for electrifying our railways will become clearer in time."
British Rail, 1979.
Was this the one in Oxford by any chance? π€
In NΓΌrnberg in April, and thought it'd be neat to go watch 1. FC NΓΌrnberg vs SG Dynamo Dresden whilst I'm there. You'd think it'd be fairly cheap and straightforward to purchase a ticket for a 2.Bundesliga game. You'd be wrong on both counts π
And to answer your original question, yes not yet public. Current EMR franchise ends Oct 2026 (with option to extend til Oct 2030). Same as Avanti (their optional extension is until Oct 2032). That just leaves XC, the TOC no-one wants, which is Oct 2027 (optional extension to Oct 2031).
I once lived in a flat with incredibly thin walls, floor and ceiling. If the neighbours got too loud while shagging, I would play a 20-minute version of Barney the Dinosaur singing I Love You, You Love Me to kill their romantic mood.
He certainly is one of those. Oh, wait...
4 car Voyagers too. I dunno, but I'm still suffering with the ramifications of it operationally some 25 years later - God knows how much passenger numbers have grown in that time too. I find it best I don't dwell on it too much, there's only so much I can physically, humanly do...
Think all their trains are 5-cars now. They sold their 7-cars to Lumo for the new Stirling route. Could be worse mind. Could be on a turbostar to Derby for an EMR onward because your original train is 4 coaches instead of 8 (admittedly due to a fatality earlier today but still...) π
Eep. Are they just supports, or are they weighted? Hope they help!
Hope you're okay?
Oh, how lovely.
kill the imposter syndrome in you head because not only is there someone out there doing it worse than you, they're also using chat gpt to do it
Anyways.
What's a weekend? π
Ah nice! π I'll bear that in mind
Didn't know you were one of them trainy types. π I pondered doing something similar, but alas I got distracted and wasted my last days off. Perhaps I'll do it in March or April if it's easy enough to do from Ches Vegas.
Good morning and happy Sunday to everyone. It's still the Department of Defense. Just like it's still the Gulf of Mexico. Just like the other place is still the Twitter. Just like heβs still in the Epstein files.
The ones with nicks in the edges were Tazos (from Walkers crisps I think) and the smooth edged ones were Pogs. Very mid 90s!
What did he get? Something equally retro for 90s kids! #Memories π
Dean bought something off Vinted. Never mind the product, look at the bag it came in! #Woolworths #Retro ππ
Trump. Keep having your little hissy fits. We don't care. π¬π§
Always was π
Stunningly good author Mr @aptshadow.bsky.social is π
Took Oscar to Costa again this morning with Lexi to acclimatise him with people some more. Pup Cups were involved. Can you tell? π€π

There's no big mystery.
This wasn't "electoral fraud" or "postal votes" or "family voting" or "sectarianism".
Reform's platform is all about shouting at foreigners and Muslims.
And a diverse, young, well-educated population told them where to go.
It was no deeper than that!π
25/25
Very disappointed. At a glance, thought this was a Costco sized box of Yorkies. π
In order to understand UK politics in 2026 you must realise that a plumber & plasterer doesn't represent the interests of the working class because she is left-wing but a wealthy broadcaster & former academic does represent the interests of the working class because he is right-wing. Hope this helps
Spot on. Labour under Starmer are, at best Red Tories, and more recently more just Reform in a (very) thinly veiled Disguise. Greens offer Hope instead of Hate and if that makes me a divisive sectarian extremist, then I'm okay with that.
