this is leaving my circle so i want to reiterate that i am not anti-nsfw, i am very pro and understand the importance of nsfw particularly in queer spaces.
i want to protect that for marginalized people who are constantly under attack by censorship that wishes to actually erase them.
i get the whole “i forget to do it”, i do. but at a certain point its being willfully ignorant or you’re doing it on purpose bc you think you’re fighting the system. when you really are just making it harder for nsfw artists and creators to exist in a space where their livelihoods are on the line.
in fact, by not labeling your nsfw, you are literally making it harder for nsfw to continue existing in online spaces. we have actual censorship laws happening and by constantly refusing to label your nsfw, you are fueling their anti-nsfw rhetoric.
labeling your nsfw isnt censorship and relying on the bsky moderation ai to label for you isn’t helpful bc most of the time it labels incorrectly or doesn’t at all

Some people are utterly incapable of distinguishing between “sex” and ”sexuality”, and so any presence of gay people means they have to deal with the topic of sweaty man-on-man butt fuckin’. Two guys having a loving snuggle doesn’t exist to them without the context of blowjobs.
We went to a local Pride when eldest was five. I tried to explain what it was about. I said something like 'It shows we celebrate that anyone can love anyone they choose, that men can love men and women can love women' and he looked blank and then said 'Well of course they can?' as if I were stupid.
It is harder to explain to young kids that you don’t think some people should be allowed to kiss or get married than it is to explain to young kids that everyone gets to choose who they kiss or marry.
As a gay uncle, my nieces did not need to be sat down to explain to them the concept of a man liking another man. Hatred of what you can't understand is taught, not innate.
Kids may ask a lot of "but why?" when theres no explanation other than "just because" - but that doesn't suddenly make it rocket science to explain that sometimes a girl loves a girl or a boy loves a boy. it doesn't make it complicated to say "your big sibling uses a new name. it makes them happier"
That kid literally was the first to switch over to using my new name nearly flawlessly.
She didn't need to understand the complexity of my Queerness. To her it was literally just "Oh you like this name now? Okay." and I'm very sure the topic of romantic attraction will be no different if she asks.
My youngest sister didn't need explaining of my transness or general queerness. If she asks questions, she does so in her own time.

BuzzFeed is going to be requiring Chik to be fed into Al for a project and I am fully against this. It's being done despite our stance against it. my 9 games, going in order (it’s chronological for me) sonic 1: this is my first video game. i like 2 and mania more but this is foundationally important to me! pokémon blue: this is the first time i asked for a game; in the beginning of pokémania i knew i had to get involved. i had to pick between red and an old game boy in one store in the mall or blue and a purple game boy color in another. and then i had to Learn How To Read since i wasn’t even in school yet! gen 2 (and its remakes) may be my favorite but they don’t get to that point without blue and the anime super mario 64: the first game i have ever beaten. i remember excitedly telling my dad about beating bowser in the sky and he didn’t know what the fuck i was talking about. and then i saw levels i never got to during the credits, like whaddya mean there’s MORE (that i missed lmao)? paper mario: the japanese title is pretty apt because i was not used to games with a story and witty dialogue yet. just entrancing that games could be more than the game mega man legends: my dad would buy random used games cheap while at work as a courier. legends (in its 64 version) went from a game that kinda sucked to the highlight of those pickups to one of my favorites as i kept replaying it super smash bros: this is how i found out nintendo makes a shitton of games. the gameplay is fun but i love general nintendo BECAUSE smash is a museum of oddities underneath that kirby super star: when i was on nsider, super star was not on vc yet and was spoken of as “the best kirby game”. the online hyped game of my childhood that lived up to it (earthbound in 2nd for this) xenoblade chronicles 2: my favorite game. released at a changing point in my life and deeply moved me. but you’ve seen me draw these freaks you probably already know lmao tokimeki memorial: just watch the tim rogers review i’m running out of space and he covers it ALL. i am a saki nijino type fyi
