It is my theory that everyone loves those high polish AAA games, they just don't want to admit it because of the corporate psychopathic evil behind them. Devs are usually brilliantly talented people, it's the publishers that are evil.

Ending scene would probably be the final shot in The Evil Dead. And in Carpenter's The Fog.
Horror scenes in general? Frank putting himself together in Hellraiser 1. Arm wrestling scene in The Fly. Creepy VHS montages in the Ring movies.
