Kudos to the Metro Louisville teens who organized and led an anti-ICE protest this afternoon on the Big Four Bridge!

The feds are ignoring all health and safety standards for immigration detention warehouses. They don’t care about the people they’re housing or local impacts. They should be sued.

Trump’s dehumanization of Pres and Mrs Obama is not just about them, it’s about Black people more generally. And now maybe it’s clear that his anti-Blackness is driving his policy decisions -if you don’t know. DEI, unraveling civil rights laws, immigration, etc. Be the resistance to this every day!

If you didn’t know what you were dealing with now you do. The depiction of Black people as monkeys and apes is nothing new. The fact that it came from a sitting president of these United States should outrage everyone. It’s not a joke.

one thing i have noticed is a lot of folks do not seem to understand the difference between a presidential election and 435+ legislative elections. i have seen any number of people say that you could subvert the outcome this november by targeting “swing states,” which does not make any sense.

The charges against journalists #DonLemon Georgia Fort are the same. Now DOJ wants to silence the media for covering the dissent using those civil rights statutes that don’t apply!

Judge in Minnesota Says ICE Has Violated Nearly 100 Court Orders

Judge said DHS has violated more court orders in January in MN than “some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence.” They don’t care what the courts say. They should be held in contempt.

Time for us to (re)read Professor Derick Bell’s work. He shaped my thinking as a law student giving me an understanding that this system readapts, litigation victories are fleeting, power matters and we must be persistent.

The lies from Karoline Leavitt and this Administration are astounding. They claim they are only interested in immigrants with criminal convictions. So where are the warrants? Why is ICE stopping random people on the streets? Why are they going door to door? It’s a lie.

If you’re going on tv to talk about the ICE executions in Minneapolis please don’t talk about body cams as a solution.
It’s all on video and the feds are still lying and cops regularly turn them off when there’s a conflict. Also the Feds refuse to be accountable. #ICE

I’m sorry. Did I miss the part where they called for DHS to remove federal agents from Greater MN as the first step to de-escalation? Cuz without that this is embarrassingly weak but on brand for every company listed.

While this is for new organizers from @prisonculture.bsky.social it’s an excellent reminder to veteran organizers. In these times (see why I did there?) we must all be grounded in the hope of what’s possible so we can continue to work for it and build it.

I think a lot of us get hope wrong. Hope, I do not believe, is an emotion. In fact, hope makes space for lots of emotions to exist alongside it. You can DO hope scared, angry, sad etc...

Hope doesn't find us. We make hope through action and struggle. It's a practice of living and is re-made daily.
