Someone elsewhere pointed out billionaires donβt read so I might be ok. I told them it was both reassuring and depressing.
I suggested a dystopian story idea to my husband earlier and heβs scared that if I write & publish it, that the billionaires will make it real.
I canβt argue with him, they would want to do that.
You know what I miss about working at a uni*? Being able to swap into an intellectual discussion at work. I really miss it.
*not all jobs, but the last team I worked with we did this all the time and I miss having a job that stretches my brain.
People will always find a way to hate your work

me to adjust medication based how I react. So much better than the old school type of specialist who thinks they know best and wonβt listen to you at all.
The invisible load people carry is often much more immense than you can imagine.
compounding pharmacies to save money because no one likes to just tell you prices up front β¦ the administrative work associated with having a disabling chronic illnesses is unrelenting and tedious.
At the same time, Iβm so happy I have such a professional specialist who listens to me and trusts
It has been a hell of a week juggling medical nonsense.
Urgent appointments, counting tablets, predicting future medication doses and side effects (which is impossible to predict but you also have to sometimes?), trying to get quotes from

I wish chronic illness was plannable (and by extension, budgetable) but it just doesn't ever work out that way and even though i know itβs not my fault, I hate myself for not being perfect at it.
Lots of discussions recently assume patients experiences are wrong and medical staff are right. People really havenβt deconstructed power yet, have they?
Social murder is still murder
Isolating disabled people to death is still murder

Iβve heard theyβre heavier than switches so it depends how your wrists and arms are & how long you play for.
On January 22nd I had a bright shiny idea because I am good at those. (I have them on days that aren't January 22nd as well. That's how good at them I am!)
YES, I HAVE MADE A SNARKY GRATITUDE JOURNAL.

wtf is this βMarchβ thing ?
I hate politics. Ass backwards word salad bullshit.
So according to the PMβs statement, Australia supports the people of Iran. And we show support by dropping bombs on them. Hmm. Fucking weird support.
Using this βlogicβ, does this mean if I saw the PM in the street and flipped him off, heβd think βthank goodness, she likes me and will vote for meβ?

to have dumped the social model and its narrow range, and to be moving to more inclusive models akin to the human rights model of disability. But what would I know? Iβm only a disabled person who spends all weekdays
And having the PM share views that I argue would broadly align with the outdated charity model is highly disappointing, we need government to have left charity model in the dark,
Just posting this here for no reason, totally nothing to do with what a βprimeβ minister may have said.
(Yeah my post is in the context of charities but it applies more broadly too.
A friend is studying social work and posted about done with not done forβ¦ which is a real bugbear topic of mine. Done with is being forced on people inappropriately, people who need done for. I hope the friend listens and remembers done with isnβt the answer for everyone.
Oh I understand that itβs still so much more than you can get. It really sucks how itβs set up there.
I know I donβt need to even think twice about calling an ambulance and getting emergency treatment. My only expense in that scenario would be a cab home, if I canβt get anyone to pick me up.
We have a good start here, but a lot (LOT) could be done to improve how universal our universal healthcare actually is.
When it gets outside the PBS it gets very expensive though, not US level expensive but rapidly unaffordable (most of my meds arenβt on the PBS).
