Lots of reasons. Semi PR means there are a lot of smaller protest parties already, including those for ‘traditional values’, or ‘on the right’ parties. Independence issue splits the whole electorate, not quite along party lines. English nationalism not so attractive here.

Also I am in the Uk so I’m very aware of the BBC and its faults, but also its strengths. Maybe if there were outside journalists allowed into Gaza we could get clearer information?
