"Only truth understands the universe" is so good, I wish I could write a sentence even half that funny
@mrdylankeeling
I write, have made movies, and can play music. I prefer teaching piano to playing it for a living, though. Current WIP: The Dragon Racket, an urban caper heist about illegal dragon trafficking..7/8 revised

Try not eating for a long while and then tucking into something really delicious. It might be life-changing
I remember a kid at school saying he didn't read but it turned out he just meant he didn't read fiction. Somehow he considered non-fiction to be something else
'Hi Anna'
(Hi Multinational Corporation or High Street Chain, with which I am suddenly and mystifyingly on first name terms)
'Thanks for shopping with us today! How did our server Zach do today?'
yes, you can reasonably argue that People Should Adapt and all, but the likely runway for how one does that while retaining a non-abusive job that pays a living wage is arguably more coherent for people in tech who make software for a living than for many others who are not
I think a lot of people who are well-intentioned LLM boosters who have been able to fairly reliably find well-paid work in tech really do struggle with putting themselves in the shoes of people working in other sectors that have been feeling precarious for a long time and now feel WAY more so
That is an awesome answer, thank you
Do you remember what the weird comic was?
And very weird looking she was, too
Echo is accepting scritches on the living room scratcher but she looks annoyed
Blurry picture of Gus on the bed yelling at human for coming home so late
Human is home!
That's the essence of the job, yeah
Jumping into Don't Stop Me Now, or I Need A Dollar or whatever, is enough to distract drunk people 9 times out of 10
Ok so a) lol yeah ofc. On the other hand, b) well.. it kinda depends. Usually I say "I don't really like that song, sorry". But if they're either super pushy, or kinda likeable, I'll play the main chords and melody line once and segue into something else. It's usually enough.
As someone who plays piano bars for money sometimes, it is impossible for me to like that song
A foggy view of a small English town
Same x
Saw it when it was first released thanks to my amazing girlfriend. Wasn't expecting a second season ๐
My hand holding up the UK paperback of Audition, next to a window. I'm just over halfway through
Re-reading Ryu Murakami and my god this book is fucking brilliant. I remembered liking it even more than the movie; well it turns out it's also one of those books that's even better the second time. The exquisitely slow build is like The Stepford Wives or something
Aw hell yeah season 2 of Deadloch? ๐
What in the world is the David Lammy mob. Is he just adding random-as-hell racism?
This isn't opinion, this is a true fact. Stuffed crusts are rubbish
The Officer's Ward, also French like Sitcom, is an obscure masterpiece.
Andrei Rublev had me on the edge of my seat wondering if the bell would ring at the end.
Total Recall is my favourite Arnie movie. I like that the story movement is relentless in that one.
I dunno, there's some anyway
So many movies I could name!
Sitcom (1998) is a good example, I must have seen that 20 times and would happily sit through it again.
Gorgeous music, perfect acting, a truly surreal plot disguised as comedy of manners. Not a wasted shot in the whole piece โค๏ธ
Oh it's entirely subjective, yes! I found Kill Bill Vol 1, for instance, the dullest movie I've ever sat through. Lots of movement but no travel
Ah I get you x
I'm not actually saying it's "bad", I'm just saying it isn't for me
I don't think they'd be pleased that I eventually said out loud, "I don't care about him and his stupid life" and turned the movie off and now can't remember one scene from the 40 minutes I sat through. I hope that's not what they were aiming for x
I don't know what your definition is. Mine is: if I'm not interested by anything a movie shows me, that movie is - for me - boring
Oh, well of course - if he was "constantly" pacing, moving, running, shouting, fucking up, all filmed to be deliberately confusing, how could I possibly have found that boring? Such a mystery
I rewatched it about a month ago, and really the only good bit is Diamonds.. it seems silly to credit Howard for that
